Matthew 14:22-33 - Keep Focused!

"But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning
to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched
forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith,
wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind
ceased. Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying,
Of a truth thou art the Son of God." --Matthew 14:22-33

In this fast paced, ever-changing world it is sometimes hard to keep
focused. When we lose focus on who we are and what Christ has accomplished
for us, we slip away into the depth of our circumstances. Like Peter who
started out just fine; Matt 14:30 "And when Peter was come down out of the
ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus."

Just as Peter looked around at the circumstances, he began to sink into
the sea. There is the sea of discouragement, anguish, failure and defeat
that await each of us when we lose focus.

People do incredible things while they are driving; women put on makeup,
men shave and everyone -it seams- is talking on a cell phone. Too many times
this lack of focus will end up in tragedy. Likewise, God wants us to keep
our eyes on what is really important as we travel through life.

Anyone can be a faithful Christian when life is going well, but what
about when failures, heartaches or problems threaten to take you down? How
will you respond? Will you keep your eyes on Jesus or drown in the darkness
of despair?

We appreciate so much your support as you log on to this website.

May God Bless you abundantly,
Pastor Cooke
